Loaded Hoyle Card Games 2008 on my Windows 8 laptop in Nov 2012 and it has run just fine until a week ago. Now it give me an error message each time I run the program.
"The instruction at 0x6fd2c6d3 referenced memory at 0X00de1a98. The memory could not be read. Click OK to Terminate the program"
Ive uninstalled and re-installed the program but each time I try to run or install the program I get the same error message. Any suggestions? Thanks...

Just so you know, Windows 8 is not a supported operating system for any Hoyle Game 2008 and under. And the same goes for Windows 7. While Hoyle Card Games 2008 functions correctly on 32 bit copies of Windows, the other versions of Windows (64 bit) exhibit issues.

There is a patch for Hoyle Card Games 2008 and you can see if this helps. All you have to do is go to http://support.encore.com and type in "Hoyle Card Games" into the search box and click the link for the 2008 edition, the patch link is there.

And if that still does not work, Encore unfortunately cannot give you techinical advice because your operating system does not meet the system requirements for this particualr software title.

Many of Encore's games will run under Windows 8 but the stability of these programs is unknown.
